Ronan Keane is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland with a wide range of experience and special expertise in pensions.

Ronan started his career as a trainee actuary in Mercer in 2001. From 2007 to 2014, he was a consulting actuary in Willis Towers Watson, where he played a leading role in several major restructing projects for employers, trustees and unions. From August 2012, he held a scheme actuary practicing certificate and was responsible for a portfolio of pension schemes.

In 2015, he joined the National Treasury Management Agency as to establish a pensions advisory service within its corporate financial advisory division, NewERA. As Senior Pensions Manager, he was responsible for advising government departments on pension schemes established by State-owned enterprises.

From June 2018 to June 2020, he was chair of the Pensions Committee of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland and also sat on the Council of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland.

In January 2023, Ronan joined Byrne Actuaries, where he does a mixture of pensions consulting and expert witness work, including family law.
